Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies

Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies

The scientific journal permits the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and other digital technologies as auxiliary means in the preparation of scholarly materials, provided that the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and responsibility are observed. Authors bear full responsibility for the originality, accuracy, and scientific validity of submitted works, regardless of whether AI has been used.

PERMITTED USES OF AI

AI tools may be used solely as a supporting resource for:
— language editing and stylistic improvement without altering the content;
— translation of texts;
— structuring the manuscript or summarizing the author’s own materials;
— technical formatting of the text in accordance with the journal’s requirements.

If AI is used, the author must explicitly disclose this in the “Acknowledgements” or “Notes” sections and complete a GAIDeT declaration via the following link: https://panbibliotekar.github.io/gaidet-declaration/index-uk.html.

PROHIBITED USES OF AI

In order to uphold standards of research ethics, the use of AI is prohibited for:
— creating the core scientific content, including the formulation of hypotheses, conclusions, theoretical provisions, and research results;
— generating or falsifying data, calculations, statistics, or experimental results;
— submitting AI-generated materials as one’s own scholarly work;
— manipulating references, including fabricated sources, DOIs, or authors;
— automatically generating peer reviews, editorial conclusions, or influencing editorial decisions;
— undisclosed use of AI without proper disclosure.

RESPONSIBILITY AND CONSEQUENCES OF VIOLATIONS

In the event of a violation of this policy, the editorial board reserves the right to:
— reject a manuscript at any stage of review;
— retract a published article;
— notify the author’s institution;
— restrict or prohibit future publications in the journal.

The editorial board may revise and update this policy in accordance with technological developments and international standards of publication ethics.
